I wonder which bright troll came up with Lee Hughes. Probably the same one that comes up with Dion Dublin and Steve Claridge on our forum

Surely can't be Hughes. I thought Kiddy were in the shit financially hence letting players like Bartlett, Richards, Lowe etc to leave the club. Hughes was at oldham and Blackpool last season and I presume he was on quite a hefty wage packet. Can't see it myself.

I thought that, but i've heard it off two people now so it makes it slightly more believeable. Wants to finish at his boyhood club? I cant get past the financial part though, will be a major coup if we do get him.

I think i read something on our forum about someone else coming onto the board - maybe paying Hughes' wages?
Well we were told we were in the shit, financially - but i think many of the players wanted league football or had clauses in their contract to allow them to talk to league clubs - as Bartlett, Richards & Lowe have all gone to league clubs (understandably), so i guess it was slightly more than money because we have been told that we have the 'same budget as the start of last season' But, we've had 1 person join the board = £50K + maybe another backer? I'm pretty sure that people outside the set up of the club were paying Constable and Christie's wages, so i don't see why it couldnt happen again?
Also i heard that Hughes was only on about 1,2k a week, so in theory 1 new person on the board could pay for Hughes' wages for a season. I won't believe the it, until(/if) it happens.

I dont know where this rumour about us 'being in the shit financially' came from. We have a budget and the players from last season would have taken us over that budget should we have given in to their financial demands. Thing is, there are much better players available now at lower wages. Makes sense. As for Hughesy, I doubt it but stranger things have happened. Hughes and MBH up front
